One of the many processes made possible through engineering is that of metal injection molding or MIM. Required tool cavities are created by using at least two hardened tool steel dies. These steel dies have already been machined into its required shapes. The majority of metal injection molding parts are made from stainless steel alloys. For specified purposes, titanium and other so-called exotic materials will also be considered. The main benefit for industrial stakeholders utilizing engineered products designed for specific MIM work is that the entailed processes and production of parts from stainless steel and other metals is adapting parts that cannot be die cast or easily machined.

Secondary operations will be used for the purposes of providing other machining processes, plating work and finishing operations within a controlled environment in order to produce the required finished part. Machines used for metal injection molding work range in weight from 60 tons to 150 tons. Among the  most widely used materials in these processes is that of SUS316L. This has to do with its ability to combat corrosion, maintain dimension control and perform cosmetic polishing work.

It is also a non-permeable material which makes it conducive to the production of consumer use electronics. And all its fine finishing characteristics, from plating work to sandblasting, contribute to a low cost environment for the industrialist.
